WASHINGTON, DC (Fri, Mar. 16) – Hollywood actor George Clooney, who was arrested for civil disobedience during a protest outside Sudan's embassy in Washington DC on Friday, has been released after paying a $100 fine, LA Times reported.

According to details; Clooney was arrested along with his father Nick Clooney and several other U.S. congress members on Friday outside Sudan's embassy as they staged a protest to demand that government forces end an offensive in South Kordofan.
"I guess we're not allowed to hang out at the Sudanese Embassy," the actor joked at a press conference after his release. "It was really rough, you can imagine.”
The Descendants star, his father Nick and other anti-Sudan protesters overlooked three police warnings to depart from the embassy grounds and were taken ultimately in plastic handcuffs to a waiting van by uniformed members of the Secret Service, a Reuters journalist covering the demonstration said.
Clooney, a longtime activist for human rights in Sudan, visited U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday after paying a secret visit to South Kordofan, where aid groups say 250,000 inhabitants are at risk of looming food shortages.
